REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

Space is limited. Therefore, pre-registration is required. Please dress in layers as temperature can vary in the meeting rooms.

Registration Fee Includes: Admission, handouts, CEU certificate, threebreakfasts (one each day) and dinner (opening night for the vendors on Friday), lunch of Saturday. Receipts for registration will be available at the conference registration desk upon request. No confirmation will be sent. Your check will be your confirmation.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:  A refund minus a $25.00 administration fee will be made if written cancellation is postmarked by October 17, 2008. No refunds will be made after this date.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This two and a half day conference will provide all health care professionals with an evidence based approach to managing patients with wound and ostomy problems, updates on caring with patients with infections, reimbursements in the acute care and home health and palliative care issues

CONTINUING EDUCATION:

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing #03602.

The one and a half day program provides 14 contact hours.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  1. Describe pathophysiolgy and types of tissue injuries during the surgical procedure
  2. Understand treatment approach to the diabetic foot ulcer
  3. Describe Intertrigo, including risk factors and one new treatment
  4. The learner will list four characteristics of Leptospermum honey dressings that help to promote healing
  5. Recognize the early recognition and treatment of protein-calorie malnutrition may prevent catabolism-induced complications, such as chronic wounds
  6. Understand coverage policies and reimbursement methodologies throughout the continuum of care
