Jane Cornwell, RN, ET: Mentorship Award
  Jane has been mentoring two new ET Nurses for some time now to replace her when she retires. She received the Mentorship Award "for giving of yourself to the benefit of others and our profession." Jane is loved by all and much deserves this award.
 
Manufacturer of the Year
  Medline Industries, Inc., was chosen for the Manufacturer of the Year for "going above and beyond in support of ET nursing."
Jeff Rubel Division BP for Advanced Wound Care in Western United States
 
Professional Education Award
Janet Stoia-Davis and Marcia Gay-Bales were chosen for the Professional Education award for "demonstrating exemplary qualities in professional education"

A special thank you to our Educational committee members, Ann Moore, Donna Lockhart, and Mary Ann Dillaway, for a tremendous job done for the past 4 years. You have certainly put together incredible symposiums, educational meetings and we are all very appreciative.
 
Fall 2002 Conference Award Recipients
In Your Glory
 
The recipients of the 2002 fall awards have gone above and beyond all expectations. We are proud to be able to present these awards to our colleagues and friends.
 
Marge Landry: Lifetime Achievement
Marge is currently employed by KCI as a home care clinical consultant She is the recipient of the ET nurse of the year award in 1989, PCR mentorship award 2001, 4 time award winner at the American Cancer Society, and "Most Honored Member" of the Shakespeare League 2000. She started in nursing in 1960 and has worked in most settings. "ET nursing has allowed me the flexibility to grow, especially to have done private practice." The award to Marge is a gratification that she has made a difference. In the past 5 years she thinks that the recognition of the importance of wound care at the scientific level has made an impact in our profession. She would like to continue to enjoy life, increase computer skills and travel to Ireland with her husband Jerry and her sons Tony and John. She also states that she has 4 special children in her life Holly, Thomas, Melody, and Alex and hopes to continue to participate in their lives.
 
Donna Lockhart: Professional Education Award
Donna is a self employed clinical consultant and who has been in private practice for 15 years. She is the recipient of several professional awards including Outstanding Performance, Special and Outstanding Achievement, Civilian Educator, Award of Merit, The Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services By the State Bar of California, Certificate of Excellence and ET Nurse of the Year award from PCR. She is married to her husband John who is a retired navy fighter pilot, she has 2 wonderful step children and 4 grandchildren. Donna states that being recognized by her peers is one of the greatest honors she could ever receive. In the past 5 years she has been impacted professionally by serving on the board of directors and being able to interact with some of the best in wound, ostomy and continence. In the next 5 years, Donna would like to complete her EdD, publish more, and design educational programs. Donna enjoys volunteering at the Alpine Community Center, Foothills United Church and UOA. She also has a very spoiled Lhasa Apso named Su-Shi.

Evonne Fowler: Mentorship

Evonne is currently an ET nurse at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower. She has been the chairperson for the past 15 years for the symposium for advanced wound care. She feels this award is a special honor from her peers. She says it's a wonderful feeling to know that she has influenced others to aspire in ostomy and wound care. The development of an outpatient wound care center has impacted her professionally. Her goal for the next 5 years is to seek ways to get others to implement best wound care practice so all patients will benefit.

Nu Hope Lab: Manufacturer of the Year

CEO and president of NuHope Labs, Gene Galindo, accepted this award. In the past he has been the recipient of the Life Time Achievement Award and the UOA's Manufactures Life Time Achievement Award. He states that working with ET's has impacted his work and is humbly honored to be the recipient. In addition to his work, he would like to see his home remodel project completed in the next 5 years! He enjoys being with his grandchildren, family, boy scouts, UOA, and staying healthy and alive.
