A Message from the President
Is your mailbox getting full of those "visit us at booth #--" cards? Are you getting those fancy sparkly clothes out of your closet? If so that means you are on your way to Las Vegas the first week of June and are planning on having a great time of learning and fun. It will be an exciting time as conference always is for the participants. There will be an informal get together for PCR members on Sunday evening at 7 PM in the Chablis Room (how appropriate for us Californians) at the Paris Hotel. Probably no food but some cold sodas, etc. Kelly has planned a networking icebreaker so bring your business cards for the game she has planned.
Our meeting in Sacramento was very educational. The presentation on nutrition and wound healing was excellent. What a great wound care team member your nutritionist is. The round tables were exceptional; the only complaint was having to choose only two when there were so many excellent offerings. It is something we need to do more often. There is so much talent and expertise in the PCR.
There is always something to look forward to and for PCR it is now our fall meeting at Lake Tahoe. Once again Donna has come up with a great program and what appears to be a wonderful location. Imagine your hotel, food, CEUs and excellent speakers all at a resort with all of its amenities-pool, spa, and hiking. Ahhhhh.
At Sacramento there was a long informal discussion during the general membership about future PCR meetings including how many per year, content of the meetings, number of CEUs expected and other topics. The board will be looking at some issues around our general membership meetings and is going to need your input and feedback, especially those of you who don't always attend the PCR meetings. We have done numerous "needs assessments" in the past and it seems that one contradicts the preceding ones. We want this to be a viable, relevant, energetic organization interested in pursuing our goals and mission. The BOD's email addresses are readily available and most of us can be reached by phone if that is easier for you. We want your opinions. Times are changing, economics are changing and we can't be the same organization we were 10 or even 5 years ago. Our attendance at general membership meetings has plainly shown us that. Help us be a relevant organization meeting your needs.
 Sincerely, Jo Ellen |
